Outstanding Afrio-American Man ? Denzel Washington-2

Here, we continue to tell about Denzel Washington enrolled in several movies where he was completely sympathetic when turning to more heroic roles. Name “Remember the Titans”(2000) as a coach struggling to erase the gap between two different skin colored football team or in “John Q”(2002) as a father fighting for his son’s heart transplant when the insurance failed to be claimed. Heart breaking but still, they were probably not the right roles for him, to the extent that it was more suitable for him to play a mysterious cop in “Training Day”(2001). The crime thriller film might give him a typical role but it certainly brought him a greater present, another Oscar winning for Best Actor in a Leading Role. Reacting to the second winning he said, “People say ‘congratulations, you finally got the Oscar’, and I have to correct them: ‘actually, it’s my second one. I won for Glory in 1989.’ Some people say ‘Yeah, but that was for a supporting actor role’ but for me, it’s the same thing.”

Although his Best Actor Oscar came for Training Day, Washington prefers to play deep character roles rather than action heroes. Washington’s trademark for success in portraying a character has been to learn as much about the individual as possible, including his social, historical, and magazine: “I like talking. I like acting. Running and jumping and ducking bullets is not my idea of a good day.”

With this kind of dedication and zeal to be true to the character, Washington has established himself as a leading actor in the movie industry; he was played virtually every memorable black male leading role in US cinema, specializing in proud, articulate great men and has done the roles justice where most would probably only have succeeded in creating clichés. In a movie world where most black actors are generally restricted to one type of role – either action movie staples like Lawrence Fishburne or Samuel L.Jackson or comedy figures like Martin Lawrence or Eddie Murphy – Denzel Washington stands alongside Morgan Freeman and Will Smith as one of the most versatile actors in Hollywood.
