It depends on the power/popularity of the celebrity/political figure. But, for the most part, not really…people are a lot more tolerant of such issues nowadays and I really don’t see them in rage if such individual was to be caught in the act.

No. It seems to make some of them more popular. Kate Moss was photographed snorting cocaine, and her modeling increased. Paris Hilton, Pamela Anderson and one of the Kardashians (UGH) and several others, had sex tapes and nothing bad happened to their celebrity. I have lost count of the scandals of the Kennedy family, still popular. I could go on and on. Hugh Grant, Brad Pitt and his wife, David Letterman, etc. etc.

No. Celebrities are more celebrated and get better parts or fame. Politicians get more expenses and better positions in government. The elected seats not sexual positions as all the best ones are already taken by the leaders and cabinet members. UK

No. Some celebrities apologise publicly for their ‘transgressions’ and appear humble for a little while. Others just seem to shrug their shoulders and carry on as normal. We don’t really condemn them, we just seem to accept that they live in a different world to the rest of us.
However, politicians are ridiculed if they are caught in sex scandals – they become figures of fun and are often left with no option but to resign.
