i mean i LOVE and adore felicity huffman-but i jsut saw transamerica and she has a complete frontal nude shot of her in a bath tub—i mean these women have their own kids,husbands—and how can they have the guts to get naked for camera?dont they ever feel ashamed?

What is there to be ashamed about? Americans have SUCH odd ideas about nudity.

You’d be surprised what people would do for money. Their bodies are their bodies, but remember, they’re getting paid for the entire movie. Would you really pass up a million dollars just for a single scene that shows you off? It’s not like it’s porn. She was in the bathtub. I’m not a naked-scene-in-a-movie celebrity, so I don’t know how they feel and how they can have the guts to do it, but people would KILL for a million dollars, and in Mardi Gras, girls show their breasts to guys just for a couple of beads. I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t pass that over just for shame.

Posing nude doesn’t necessary mean that a person is dirty or should feel ashamed some of it its done in an artful and taste full way. In Felicity Huffman’s case I thought that shot hindered the plot of the film. Bree waited so long and went through so much to get that operation, I thought that shot of her in the bathtub was symbolic of her finally becoming who she really wants to be. Some nudity in film in tasteless but I thought in the context of Transamerica that shot was beautiful and affirming.
