Q&A: How can I go red like Marcia Cross?
I bleached my hair 4 months ago. But because the result did not come out too well, I put a permanent brown colour over it. Now it is medium brown and has been not colored since. I would like to have a carrot-orangey red hair colour like Marcia Cross has. My question is: if I have it professionally done would the hairdresser bleach my hair again and apply the colour or could it be done without bleach at all??? Would my hair suffer? Any advice??

Because your brown hair is darker than red it’s better just to bleach it since if you try to dye over it the color will come out uneven and dark.

I think you hair will be fine, bleaching you hair is fine just as long as it’s not done over and over.

However, there is dye remover which would remove the brown back to the bleach, but since the bleach was from 4 months ago your roots would still have to be redone. Sorry if this was confusing!
